About the Barony Flock
We are situated on the edge of the Galloway hills of South West Scotland. We have a smallholding here and we keep around 15-20 breeding ewes.
Our aim is to breed for good conformation, true to breed correctness and production of a high quality fleece, but above all we enjoy working with our Coloured Ryelands as they respond very well to any attention given.
Showing
We began showing in 2003 and generally attend around 3-4 shows per year, both locally, and further afield. Although our approach to showing is relatively laid back, we have nevertheless achieved regular successes, which is very satisfying, especially when showing home bred sheep.
Sales
We usually have stock for sale from the farm and visitors are always welcome. Our annual sale venues are Carlisle and Lanark Rare and Minority sales, held during August and September.
